Everyone has dream and aspirations, but most people do just that, dream about following their drems. Their aspirations grow faded and forgotten.
When this happens, it is easy to forget to hope, to dream for more, for better. This sad turn of events happens to many people, not least because they get caught up in the day to day part of living, the mundane, the humdrum prison of normality.
Instead of experiencing the everyday adventure of life, of living, we just survive day by day.
But even though you may thing that this is the way it is, it most definitely is NOT the way it is! Life can be so much better than it is, we just have to aim higher.
It is a sadly common problem that people settle. They settle for less, they forget to strive for more. Their inner voice tells them it is impossible, that it is too difficult, to much energy, to hard. No one could do this…
But of course, people do. If people did not strive, create impossible goals, then there would be no new innovations, no new breakthroughs.
When you limit your life with preconceived assumptions, self doubt and self limitations, you will never be able to break free of the idea of achieving the impossible. It is only when you suspend belief, or rather, disbelief, that you will find yourself able to finally achieve your dreams.
One of the best ways to do this is to write out your dreams, no matter how silly they may be. Take piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you may be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’
Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’
As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’
As you go through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.
You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working toward that goal little by little.
Remember, if you told someone a hundred years ago that you could use a card to pay for goods, they would have laughed at you. If you had told them that a tiny square would house a computer that would instantly connect people all over the world they would say you were out of your mind. But, because of perseverance and desire, these impossible dreams are now realities.
We know that genius is often discribed as 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration, and for you to achieve your dreams, there has to be hard work, discipline and goal setting. That 1% must be a true dream, not an instant gratification dream. There is no truer saying than “No pain, no gain”
So dream those big dreams, and don’t let anyone, including yourself tell you it cant be done, Think big. Work hard. One step at a time. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will see that the impossible become possible, if you believe.
